China Environment surges as penny stocks advance

PENNY stocks off punters' radar gained favour on Friday, with China Environment taking the lead to land behind Ezra Holdings as the second most traded counter at the close of trading hours.
Over 125.8 million shares in China Environment changed hands against a three-month average of 7.5 million shares, driving the stock up to an intraday high of S$0.084, up 42.3 per cent or 2.5 cents from the previous close, during the first half of Friday. The stock pared some gains to settle at S$0.075 at the end of Friday.
