China Everbright Water wins concession deal for waste water treatment plant in Shandong

CHINA Everbright Water has landed a 30-year concession agreement for a waste-water treatment plant in the Luozhuang Economic Development Zone in Linyi city in Shandong province.
In a filing to the Singapore Exchange on Tuesday (Aug 30), China Everbright said that it has entered into an agreement with the Linyi Luozhuang Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau and the Luozhuang Economic Development Zone Management Committee for the project, which will require an investment of about RMB 259.41 million (S$52.45 million).
The investment will be funded through a mix of internal resources and external financing.
The project, based on a build-operate-transfer model, comprises a waste-water treatment plant with a daily treatment capacity of 20,000 cubic metres, and am ancillary pipeline network of 37.1 km.
The Luozhuang authorities will be paying China Everbright waste-water treatment service fees, so the company expects that the current project will enhance long-term returns and value for its shareholders.
China Everbright also said that the project will expand its presence in Shandong, paving the way for it to win other projects in the future.
The counter closed at 26.5 Singapore cents on Tuesday, down half a cent or 1.85 per cent.
