CHINA’S top refiner Sinopec has shut a portion of its Zhenhai refinery at Ningbo for scheduled maintenance starting Feb 20, according to a post on the company’s Weibo account.
The overhaul, which involves the older section of the refinery, is expected to last up to three months, the post said.
Two trading sources said that the overhaul involves the No 1 crude distillation unit (CDU) at the site, which has a capacity of 160,000 barrels per day (bpd), Refinitiv Eikon data showed.
Several derivative petrochemical units such as the 1 million tonne per year No 1 steam cracker at the Ningbo site will be shut for maintenance as well, the trading sources added. REUTERS
