Chip Eng Seng appoints ex-minister Lui Tuck Yew as independent director
MAINBOARD-LISTED construction and property group Chip Eng Seng Corporation on Monday said that it has appointed former transport minister Lui Tuck Yew as an independent director.
In a filing to the local bourse, it said that the appointment of Mr Lui, 54, will take effect from July 1.
"The nominating committee has reviewed, assessed and concluded that Mr Lui possesses the requisite qualifications and work experiences," the group's board said.
The group added that it would arrange for Mr Lui, who has no prior experience as director of a listed company here, to receive relevant training to familiarise himself with the role and responsibilities of being one.
