CICT appoints JTC CEO Tan Boon Khai as non-executive independent director

    CAPITALAND Integrated Commercial Trust (CICT) has appointed Tan Boon Khai, chief executive officer (CEO) of Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) ) as its non-executive independent director and a member of its audit committee.

    In an announcement on Monday (April 25), the manager said that having considered the 48-year-old’s qualifications and experience in the public and private sectors, the existing composition of the board, as well as mix of skills, experience and knowledge amongst its directors, its board has approved Tan’s appointment. It said Tan will provide diversity to the board’s competencies and skills.  

    Tan, who graduated with first class honours in law from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, has been CEO of JTC since September 2020. 

    Prior to that, he was chief executive at Singapore Land Authority (SLA) from May 2015. Other roles he has held in the past include head of group procurement at CapitaLand Limited and regional general manager (Singapore and Malaysia) of The Ascott.

    Tan is a director on the board of Alexandra Health Fund, the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group, Jurong Port, JTC, Singapore-Suzhou Township Development and Vanguard Healthcare. In the last 5 years, he had also been a director in Alexandra Health System and SLA.

    Tan currently holds 12,880 units in CICT. 

    CICT added that Tan has no prior experience being a director of an issuer listed on the exchange and will be attending prescribed training on his roles and responsibilities.

    CICT’s units closed flat at S$2.34 on Friday.
