WASTEWATER treatment firm Citic Envirotech Ltd (CEL) on Monday revealed that it has secured an engineering, procurement and construction contract worth 130 million yuan (S$26.55 million) for the upgrading and expansion of a wastewater treatment plant in China's Xiangban City.
The project, awarded to Citic by Fujian Haixia Environmental Protection Group (Fujian Haixia), will see Fujian Haixia's existing 80,000 cubic metre/day conventional wastewater treatment plant expand to a 90,000 cubic metre/day plant using CEL's membrane bioreactor technology.
As a result of the proposed expansion, the treated water quality will improve from Grade 1B to Grade 1A discharge standard.
The project will commence immediately and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2018, the Mainboard-listed company said in a filing after the market closed.
CEL shares ended S$0.005 or 0.7 per cent higher at S$0.735 on Monday.
