Clearbridge Health's Philippine unit reports 8 cases of Covid-19

PRECISION medicine firm Clearbridge Health on Wednesday said eight people comprising patients and staff had tested positive for the novel coronavirus at its medical centre in Manila.

As a precautionary measure, Clearbridge Medical Philippines Inc (CMPI) has voluntarily ceased the affected operations and segregated non-affected operations at the medical centre for 14 days, with effect from July 8.

According to Clearbridge Health, revenue from its medical centre in the Philippines accounted for less than 5 per cent of the group's revenue in FY2019. Therefore, the temporary cessation and segregation is not expected to have any material impact on the group's financial performance for the year ending Dec 31, 2020.

The group's other operations in the Philippines are not affected, Clearbridge Health said.

Separately, Biolidics, which was spun out of Clearbridge Health, on Wednesday said it has entered into a collaboration agreement with Hangzhou-based LC-Bio to develop cancer-diagnostic solutions.

Clearbridge shares closed at 17.2 Singapore cents on Wednesday, up 0.1 cent or 0.6 per cent, while Biolidics shares finished at 31 Singapore cents, down 0.5 cent or 1.6 per cent before these announcements.
