SINGAPORE taxi operator ComfortDelGro Corporation has stepped up its presence in the UK by acquiring the Liverpool City region's third-largest taxi and private-hire operator for £7 million (S$12.5 million).

Its wholly-owned subsidiary CityFleet Networks is carrying out the acquisition of Argyle Satellite and Argyle Satellite Contract Services, collectively known as AST, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Semakau now houses the city-state’s offshore landfill. The first refinery operates in Bukom, and an airstrip is located on Pulau Sudong.
