Cosco secures deals worth US$230m
SHIPBUILDER Cosco Corp said that its shipyards have won US$230 million worth of shipbuilding and offshore contracts to build a floating accommodation unit and a module carrier.
A Singapore entity contracted it to build a floating accommodation unit scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2017, and also has options to buy five more.
It is also building a module carrier for a European company for delivery in the second quarter of 2016.
Pteris Global unit wins 227m yuan contract
PTERIS Global said its subsidiary Shenzhen CIMC-TianDa Airport Support has won a 227 million yuan (S$46.9 million) contract to supply and install airport passenger boarding bridges for Zhengzhou XinZheng International Airport. It will contribute positively to Pteris' earnings in 2014.
SMRT in JV with Toshiba
SMRT subsidiary Singapore Rail Engineering has set up a joint venture with Toshiba Corporation to market and supply propulsion systems with Toshiba technology.
SMRT said tests have confirmed that the technology will cut power consumption of its first-generation trains by 30 per cent.
