Qantas' hub move impacts SATS
FOR Q4 FY13/14, groundhandler SATS handled 6.7 per cent more flights year-on-year, while unit services rose 3.2 per cent and cargo throughput, by 4.4 per cent. The number of passengers handled was nearly flat at 10.53 million. However, gross and unit meals produced fell 8.2 per cent and 6.3 per cent respectively, as a result of Australia's Qantas Airways moving its hub for its European flights from Changi Airport to the Middle East. For the financial year, all operating metrics grew except gross and unit meals.
