THE Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) paved the way for the possible entry of a fourth telco operator on Tuesday, by announcing that it will set aside 60 Megahertz (MHz) of spectrum for a new mobile network operator (MNO) when it auctions 225 MHz of spectrum early next year.
A reserve price of S$40 million has been set for the 60 MHz of spectrum; if more than one potential new player emerges, bidding will be carried out.
