TAKASHIMAYA Singapore, which runs the popular Orchard Road department store, posted a 2 per cent increase in sales to hit a record S$652 million last year, amid tough operating conditions and the competitive retail landscape here.

But its net profit continued to fall, easing 6.7 per cent to S$43 million for the year ended Dec 31, 2014, from S$46 million the year before.
