Troubled SuperPark Singapore to reopen at Suntec under new management
SUPERPARK Singapore, an indoor playground at Suntec City that closed last year amid financial troubles, will reopen on April 9 under a new operator.
The new operator of the 40,000-square feet space is DreamUs, which was established in 2014 and operates Pororo Park Singapore in Marina Square and Tayo Station in Downtown East. It also distributes Pororo and Tayo toy merchandise.
DreamUs general manager Carolyn Chia said in a statement on Thursday: "This all-inclusive indoor-sports activity park brand is a strategic fit for our growing portfolio of family edutainment spaces in Asia."
The original SuperPark and its counterparts in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur closed last year after their holding company, SuperPark Asia Group, fell under interim judicial management amid some S$18 million in liabilities.
The group had owed sums to multiple employees and creditors, including at least S$500,000 in rent to APM Property Management, which manages Suntec City.
DreamUs, on the other hand, appears to be profitable. Financial records show the firm made a profit after tax of S$112,374 in 2018, on revenues of S$3.61 million. This is up from the profit after tax of S$25,839 it made in 2017, on S$2.06 million in revenue.

However, DreamUs said in response to The Business Times' queries that it is not liable for any of the past debts and liabilities owed to employees and creditors.
Likewise, customers who had bought annual passes and tickets before SuperPark closed previously will not be able to seek refunds from the new operator. But DreamUs said it will honour annual pass and ticket holders, as long as they are able to show proof that they had purchased and did not use the passes or tickets, "as a gesture of goodwill for their support to the SuperPark brand".
Affected customers can email hello@superpark.com.sg for assistance.
Ivan Koh, chief executive of APM Singapore, said on Thursday: "We congratulate SuperPark and DreamUs for the much anticipated reopening of SuperPark in Suntec City. We are delighted to partner with the new management of SuperPark to bring the indoor activity park back to our shoppers."
