JEREMY Yee, the chief executive of private cord-blood bank Cordlife, has resigned to pursue other interests, the company announced in a release to the Singapore Exchange on Monday.

His resignation is effective March 21, the same day as the announcement.

"Mr Yee is currently assisting the board to help the company transition to a new leadership," Cordlife said.

Mr Yee has been CEO since June 30, 2011 and with the company for 14 years.

"Mr Yee was part of the senior management team that led the company's growth into the largest private cord-blood bank in Singapore. He was also responsible for the company's expansion into Asia, including Hong Kong, India, the Philippines and China," said Cordlife, adding that he was instrumental in the listing of the group on SGX in 2012. "In the meantime, the management and operations of the company will continue under the helm of the board and the senior management of the company."
