LUXURY watch retailer Cortina Holdings was recently subjected to a cybersecurity incident which gave a hacker unauthorised access to one of the group’s servers and encrypt its data.
In a bourse filing on Tuesday (Jun 6), the group said that investigations are currently ongoing.
While the group did not indicate when it discovered the intrusion, it said that it took immediate steps after it detected the intrusion, including isolating the affected server.
The group has also contacted its external information technology consultant to assist with its containment and remedial efforts and informed the authorities, including the police and the Personal Data Protection Commission.
Although it did not specify what data was leaked, the group said that it will on Wednesday begin to notify all parties whose data was affected.
A Twitter user by the name of Bassterlord appears to have published a partial screenshot of a database belonging to Cortina.
The hacker claims the data came from a feedback form that Cortina’s customers fill in, and that the company has gotten in touch but “refuses” to talk.
The company said that it will conduct a review of the incident and its systems to ensure that the data it is entrusted with is secure.
Cortina Holdings shares closed flat at S$3.66 on Tuesday.
