THE first Crystal Jade outlet at the new Yangon International Airport Terminal 2 is expected to open in the third quarter of 2016 .
Mainboard-listed Singapore Myanmar Investco Limited (SMI), a progressive business group primarily focused on Myanmar, announced today that it has entered into a franchise agreement with Crystal Jade Management (Vietnam) Pte Ltd.
Crystal Jade is a well known household name in Asia that serves traditional Chinese cuisine through speciality dining concepts ranging from fine dining restaurants to speciality bakeries. Both SMI and Crystal Jade Group are looking to tap into the rising popularity of Chinese cuisine in Myanmar. With Myanmar's large domestic population and increasing visitor numbers, the country's food and beverage market has strong potential for growth and economic progress after recent major reforms.
Mark Bedingham, president and CEO of SMI, said the company is "confident that Crystal Jade's gastronomic Chinese cuisine will find ready acceptance in Myanmar" after the opening of the first two stores this year.
There are further plans to open Crystal Jade Palace restaurant at the Sedona Hotel Yangon as well, later in the year.
