MAINBOARD-LISTED Datapulse Technology's penchant for courting controversy has not diminished despite a protracted shareholder spat and controversial buyout that climaxed in a shareholder meeting in April to oust the board.

The directors fended off that challenge and kept their seats.

It was also in April that the company announced it had appointed Lee & Lee to undertake an internal controls review, following its move into the shampoo and hairspray business. It was not by choice as Datapulse had been directed by the Singapore Exchange to reappoint independent professionals to conduct an independent review of the company's internal controls and corporate governance practices.
