DBS customers unable to log into digibank, PayLah! on Thursday
DBS customers appeared to have issues logging into the bank’s digibank and PayLah! apps on Thursday (May 2).
On outage tracking site Downdetector, more than 3,000 reports had been made from around 5.45 pm about issues relating to mobile banking.
Users attempting to log into the PayLah! app would see the message: “Sorry. This service isn’t available right now. Please try again later.”
DBS said in a statement that it identified the issue and activated measures to recover the services. It added that customers can continue to use their DBS or POSB credit or debit cards to make payments. In a later Facebook update, the bank said that DBS and POSB digibank online services returned to normal at 7.37 pm on Thursday. Mobile services returned to normal at 7.41 pm.
Services on DBS PayLah! were back to normal at 8.03 pm, DBS said.
“Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience caused,” it added.
The latest disruption comes after a string of incidents that the bank experienced in 2023.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore had imposed restrictions on the lender, including a multiplier of 1.8 times to DBS’ risk-weighted assets for operational risk.
A temporary six-month restriction on non-essential activities that was imposed in November was lifted on Tuesday.
