Designing SGX's next chapter
AFTER a two-year revamp, Singapore Exchange Centre launched its new premises on Tuesday. According to Singapore Exchange (SGX) chief executive officer Magnus Bocker (left), more than just a makeover, the new centre "signifies the next phase of (SGX's) story", and was designed to be the "focal point for people to meet, partnerships to be forged, opportunities to be explored", and a place to "nurture and advance Singapore as a leading financial centre". Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam (centre), who graced the opening ceremony as the guest of honour, also spoke of SGX's significant progress in the fast-changing world of exchanges. With them is SGX chairman Chew Choon Seng.
