Director buying flat; buyback activity plunges
Sellers return after posting no sales in previous week; last week's trades feature several significant filings.
THE buying by directors was flat for the second straight week during the holiday-shortened week of Jan 31 to Feb 3 based on filings on Singapore Exchange, with nine companies that recorded 18 purchases worth S$1.51 million.
The number of firms and trades were not far off from the previous week's five-day totals of 10 companies and 23 purchases. The buy value, however, was sharply up from the previous week's acquisitions worth S$0.68 million.
On the selling side, sellers returned after posting no sales in the previous week, with two firms that recorded three disposals worth S$0.11 million. While the buying was flat last week, the buyback activity plunged, with only two companies that posted four repurchases worth S$1.24 million. The figures were sharply down from the previous week's seven firms, 20 trades and S$5.77 million.
