Director buying rises again, buyback activity down

THE buying rose for the second straight week while sellers got back on track based on filings on the Singapore Exchange from Dec 19 to 23. A total of 12 companies recorded 24 purchases worth S$1.76 million versus five firms with six disposals worth S$1.49 million.
The number of companies and trades on the buying side was up from the previous week's nine firms and 18 purchases. The buy value, however, was down from the previous week's acquisitions worth S$2 million. There were no sales by directors in the previous week.
While the buying by directors rose for the second straight week, the buyback activity fell for the second straight week with only nine companies posting 29 repurchases worth S$1.73 million. The figures were down from the previous week's 14 firms, 46 trades and S$1.81 million.
