Does more sobriety await stocks again this week?

THE twinkle-less mood that gripped the stock market for much of last week could echo back into this week's trading as the corporate earnings season roll on and unresolved anxieties continue to haunt investor sentiments.

Wall Street could barely keep its spirits high last Friday after ending on a flat note amid a release of mixed results from big corporates; the deadbeat performance could give the local bourse an additional reason to stay dull this week.

Noteworthy is that US equities have been trading in a tight range for months weighed by concerns over the dollar, expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike in December, oil prices and the US Election Day on Nov 8.
