Dollar recovers some ground ahead of jobs data

THE dollar recouped some losses on Thursday but was still holding near a 21/2-year low hit in the previous session as investors readied for US jobs data.
Most of the US currency's gains came against commodity linked currencies such as the Australian dollar and its Canadian counterpart, a theme that has been consistent this week, as investors took profits after recent gains.
