EC World Reit manager donates 500,000 masks and medical supplies to Singapore

THE manager of EC World Real Estate Investment Trust (Reit) has contributed masks and personal protective equipment to Singapore in light of the Covid-19 outbreak, the company announced in a bourse filing on Wednesday. 

The contribution comes from Zhang Guobiao, chairman of the Reit's manager, EC World Asset Management. It includes 5,000 protective coveralls suitable for use in surgery, 5,000 overalls for non-surgery use and 500,000 face masks. 

"The COVID-19 outbreak has severely affected people globally, and fighting the virus is everyone's responsibility. With our listed company and fund management company in Singapore, we want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people and government of Singapore to render appropriate support where we can as we face the Covid-19 challenges together," Mr Zhang said in a statement. 

Units of EC World REIT closed at S$0.65 on Wednesday, up S$0.02 or 3.18 per cent.
