UBS Asia-Pacific chairman Edmund Koh will be joining the Sentosa Development Corporation board from Oct 1.

As the chairman of the bank’s Asia-Pacific business unit, Koh engages clients and strengthens businesses in the region.

Under his leadership, Asia has grown to be a key contributor to the group’s revenue and profitability, said the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Monday (Sep 30).

In August, UBS’ 13 markets in Apac posted an increase in revenue for the second quarter this year. Australia and Singapore led the way during the quarter, buoyed by the progress in the integration of Credit Suisse Group, which it acquired in May.

Its wealth division in the region attracted US$8.2 billion of net new assets during the second fiscal quarter. It is the biggest wealth manager in the region with more than 1,000 client advisers, said the bank.

Koh has more than 30 years of experience in senior roles in financial services.
