TWO workers died on Tuesday from an ammonia leak at a Petronas plant in Sabah, while three others were injured. The accident comes amid growing friction between the national oil company and the East Malaysian states over oil royalties and the perceived sidelining of talent from East Malaysia.
The workers were carrying out maintenance work at the Sabah Ammonia Urea project and were releasing gas from a pipe when the accident occurred at about 9.30 am, The Star reported.
