THE US Energy Information Administration (EIA) lowered estimates for 2015 US natural gas production and consumption on Tuesday in its latest outlook.
EIA forecast in its August Short-Term Energy Outlook that 2015 production will reach 78.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), compared with its July forecast of 79.0 bcfd. It expects 2015 production to exceed 2014's record high by four bcfd, or 5.4 per cent. If correct, that would be the fifth consecutive annual record high for gas production.
