POWER companies are bracing for a hit in the UK no matter who wins the general election on May 7, though the shape of the next government will determine the biggest losers.

David Cameron plans to end support for onshore wind farms if his Conservative Party is re-elected, while Ed Miliband's Labour opposition would cap retail power prices, split up utilities and change the way the wholesale markets operate.
