FGV chairman moves to land transport agency
Kuala Lumpur
TO settle the management tussle at Felda Global Ventures Holdings (FGV), Putrajaya has made Isa Samad acting chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) in a move that critics say does not address the underlying problems in the underperforming plantations company but instead disproportionately rewards the senior Umno politician.
"Isa willingly gave up the chairmanship of FGV which means Sulaiman Mahbob will take over as acting chairman," Prime Minister Najib Razak said on Monday. "Furthermore, in appreciation of his service and in order to enable him to continue to serve, Isa has agreed to be acting SPAD chairman."
