THE Singapore Lube Park - the first of its kind in Asia where facilities are shared - was launched on Thursday, giving a boost to lubricant production in Singapore amid growing regional demand.
The Lube Park, located in Tuas South, comprises shared facilities such as an import-export jetty, pipelines, and a 159,000-cubic-metre tank farm. These support the lube oil blending plants and grease manufacturing plants of Shell, Sinopec and Total, which are located on separate sites adjacent to the lube park. Estimated to cost at least half a billion dollars, the Lube Park was designed and built by Singapore firms Rotary Engineering and Antara Koh.
