GLOBAL inventories of natural gas have fallen sharply, according to the latest reports from the Paris-based International Energy Agency (IEA) and the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
In Europe, inventory levels were 16 per cent - or 14 billion cubic metres (bcm) - below their five-year average, and 22 per cent (or 21 bcm) below last year's levels by the beginning of October, which is the start of Europe's heating season.
