Indonesia's first mini-LNG vessel tender for smelter kicks off
It has attracted interest from a dozen contractors, but only two are local players
Singapore
A SUBSIDIARY of Indonesia's state-owned gas utility Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) has launched a tender for the supply of a small-scale LNG vessel to transport cargoes of the cleaner burning hydrocarbon fuel to a smelter to be operated by state-owned mining outfit Aneka Tambang in Pomalaa, Indonesia.
The tender for the mini LNG - believed to be the first of its kind to supply a smelter plant in Indonesia - comes as state-owned electricity company, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) pressed on concurrently with a request for proposal towards an LNG supply chain contract in support for small-scale power plants across 30-32 locations.
