[SAO PAULO] Oil at US$60 per barrel poses a challenge to the biofuels industry, Elizabeth Farina, president of Brazilian industry association Unica, said on Thursday.
"This is a challenge for all renewable energies but it has to be discussed. Will we continue consuming oil (instead of ethanol) because it is cheap now?" she told reporters on Thursday.
Brazil is the largest producer of cane-based ethanol.
