PAVILION Energy, Gasum, and CNOOC Gas and Power Group on Tuesday (Nov 15) signed a heads of agreement to strengthen the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker supply network in Singapore, north-west Europe and coastal areas in China.
The agreement will allow the three parties to leverage one another’s local expertise, logistics capabilities and experience in LNG bunkering operations to improve efficiency and operational flexibility across global supply points, said the companies.
This comes after Pavilion Energy extended a partnership with Gasum in October 2020 to develop an LNG bunker supply network for both its customers in Singapore and northern Europe.
The energy companies hope CNOOC’s participation in this agreement will boost industry alliance and encourage the uptake of LNG as a cleaner marine fuel, in line with the maritime industry’s decarbonisation efforts and the International Maritime Organization’s agenda to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“The synergies of our operations will further facilitate customers’ access and demand for efficient, competitive, and optimised LNG bunkering solutions,” said Alan Heng, group chief executive of Pavilion Energy.
