Petronas sanctions project for gas feed to first Floating LNG plant
Offshore platform contract awarded to Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering after months of delay
Singapore
PETRONAS has sanctioned the F12 field development planned under the Kumang Cluster Phase 2 project, which is intended to maintain the gas flow to meet the combined requirements of the country's first floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) plant and the three-train MLNG Dua terminal in Bintulu, East Malaysia.
The Malaysian national oil company is understood to have reached the final investment decision after repeatedly holding back a competitive tender tied to the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a mid-sized offshore platform with processing capacity for the F12 field development.
