[LIMA] People living near MMG Ltd's Las Bambas copper mine in Peru have blocked a road for the past week to keep the company from transporting copper concentrates to port, a representative for the ombudsman's office said on Wednesday.
They are demanding payment for use of the road and talks with MMG and government officials aimed at ending the blockage ended with no agreement a few days ago, added Artemio Solano, the head of the ombudsman's office in the Andean region of Apurimac.
