Renewable energy takes centre stage as Republic eyes regional potential

THE spotlight fell on renewable energy this year at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). Even as momentum builds up in the local solar power market, the Republic's eyes are clearly set on setting the stage for exporting clean energy expertise to the region.
The solar power sector here has a capacity of nearly 20 megawatts at optimum conditions, or 20 megawatts-peak (MWp), double the 9.8 MWp in 2012.
