Santos more than doubles interim dividend
[BENGALURU] Australian gas producer Santos more than doubled its interim dividend on Tuesday, helped by stronger oil and gas prices as economies reopening from Covid-19 lockdowns boosted demand.
The country's No. 2 independent gas producer declared an interim dividend of 5.5 cents per share, up from last year's payout of 2.1 cents per share. It beat a Macquarie estimate of 5 cents per share.
The company also posted underlying profit of US$317 million for the six months ended June 30, up from US$212 million reported last year.
