Entrepreneur Goh Eng Wah dies at 92
GOH Eng Wah, an entrepreneur and a pioneer of Singapore's cinema industry, died on Sept 5, aged 92.
He was the executive chairman and founder of Eng Wah Global, which has business spanning the entertainment, property, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors in Singapore and Malaysia.
In a statement, the firm described Mr Goh as an illustrious entrepreneur who pioneered the cinema industry of Singapore in both film distribution and exhibition.
"Spanning 70 years, his entertainment empire included the management of several iconic entertainment businesses in post-war Singapore such as Happy Theatre, Victory Theatre in Gay World, and Silver World Theatre which eventually led to his management of Happy World," it said.
