Euro rises as traders eye central bank speeches

THE euro gained on Monday as a fall in US Treasury yields dragged down the dollar, but trading was relatively quiet ahead of speeches by central bankers and political developments in Germany and Italy this week.
The focus is on Fed chairman Jerome Powell's first congressional testimony.
