Euro surges on possible ECB policy revision

THE euro jumped almost a cent on Thursday after the European Central Bank (ECB) said it could revisit its communication stance in early 2018, boosting expectations that policymakers are getting ready to reduce their vast monetary stimulus programme.
The single currency climbed to as high as US$1.20255 after the minutes, having traded at US$1.1937 before their release, leaving it up 0.6 per cent on the day.
