FREQUENT visitors to The Business Times’ website will notice we have refreshed our homepage design today (Nov 19).

The new homepage expands the number of top stories available to users at a glance, and makes it easier for readers to find stories on their favourite topics.

The redesign is part of BT’s continuous efforts to provide a delightful user experience, and helps BT’s users access our award-winning journalism more easily.

Key changes to the homepage include a streamlined navigation bar leading to BT’s core areas of coverage, including companies, property and startups.

This streamlined navigation bar will eventually show also in BT’s app for both Android and iOS users, alongside other improvements.

Meanwhile, mousing over these primary topics on the website will bring up intuitive secondary topics (see below).

    BT in your inbox

Start and end each day with the latest news stories and analyses delivered straight to your inbox.

Roll your mouse over the primary topic (e.g. ‘Companies’) in the homepage’s navigation bar to get a dropdown menu showing a list of relevant secondary topics.

Users looking for BT’s award-winning Garage portal can find it under “Startups”; alongside a separate secondary topic, “Tech”, covering issues such as Big Tech, e-commerce and Web 3.

Clicking on the “hamburger” menu icon in the top left-hand corner of the site lists more primary topics (see below). This includes ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance), which has become an important pillar of coverage for BT.

The sidebar also shows BT’s other content offerings on various platforms, including email newsletters, podcasts, video and the e-paper.

Clicking on the “hamburger” menu at the top left-hand corner of the site pulls up a sidebar that lists BT’s core coverage, content platforms and other key links.

Finally, the sidebar menu also shows two new categories: Singapore and International. “Singapore” houses BT’s coverage of the local economy and policy, as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises.

“International” houses Asean Business and Global Enterprise – BT’s two established verticals focusing on regional and global news, respectively.
