Failed acquisition deals worldwide hit 8-year high in 2016: study

MERGERS and acquisitions (M&A) deals might be picking up the world over, but a new study has also shown that the proportion of failed acquisitions globally reached an eight-year high last year.

The research, "Abandoned Acquisitions", published by global provider of M&A deal management solutions Intralinks and University of London's Cass Business School, said the Asia-Pacific region had the highest rate of failed deals in 2016.

Over a 25-year period, China, Australia and Singapore topped the global list of deal failure rates.
