‘Finally’: Citi investment strategist lauds SGX initiatives, says ‘no reason’ Hong Kong should dominate Asian equity markets
The Singapore bourse needs to pivot its focus towards investor returns, says Ken Peng
[SINGAPORE] It is great that Singapore is “finally” doing something about its equity markets, said Ken Peng, head of Asia investment strategy at Citi Wealth.
“There’s no reason why Hong Kong should have such a dominant position in Asian equity capital markets,” he said at a media roundtable on Friday (Sep 26), ahead of the bank’s Wealth Symposium for clients.
He was responding to queries on the outlook of the Singapore market, considering the artificial intelligence (AI) boom and rising demand for semiconductors.
