F&N announces CEO appointment and other leadership changes

BEVERAGE and publishing group Fraser and Neave (F&N) F99 : F99 0% has named Hui Choon Kit as its chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from Feb 1.

Hui, 57, will focus on accelerating the execution of the growth strategy of the group's businesses and investments, F&N said in a bourse filing on Monday (Jan 31).

Before his latest appointment, Hui was the group's chief financial officer and company secretary.

He joined F&N more than 2 decades ago and has held senior leadership positions in corporate planning and business development, corporate communications and special projects, group finance, and the corporate secretariat departments.

The group also announced on Monday that Lee Meng Tat is retiring as CEO, non-alcoholic beverages, after having served in the role for nearly 7 years.

Lee, 59, has been overseeing the non-alcoholic beverages business, which has operations and investments in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Meanwhile, Edmond Neo, 56, will step down as CEO, beer, with effect from Feb 1. This is so he can focus on his leadership position in brand investment in Thai Beverage Public Co (ThaiBev) Y92, : Y92 0% which is a shareholder and strategic partner of F&N.

Chairman of the F&N board executive committee, Koh Poh Tiong, said that Neo "can actively support the execution of F&N growth plans" in his ThaiBev brand investment role.

Koh added that the non-alcoholic beverages and beer businesses have strengthened their fundamentals and expanded their reach in South-east Asia, under the leadership of Lee and Neo.

F&N has also appointed Christopher Leong as director of group finance and Samuel Lee as company secretary, effective Feb 1.

Shares of F&N were flat at S$1.39 at Monday's close, while ThaiBev shares rose S$0.005 or 0.8 per cent to finish at S$0.655.
