Former ST Marine exec sentenced to 20 weeks imprisonment and fine for bribery

MOK Kim Whang, the former Senior Vice President of ST Marine's Tuas Yard has been sentenced to a total of 20 weeks' imprisonment and a total fine of $100,000, in default 20 weeks' imprisonment.
ST Engineering said on Tuesday that Mok, who was senior vice president of its unit from June 1, 2000 to July 31, 2004, pleaded guilty on August 24, 2016 to a total of 49 charges under section 477A of the Penal Code and one charge under section 6(b) read with section 31 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) has been investigating certain transactions involving former and current employees of ST Marine since 2011.
Mok was charged in end-2014 with conspiring to give a nearly S$44,000 bribe to a Hyundai Engineering and Construction employee, between 2004 and 2010.
