Fostering business model innovation
SERGUEI Netessine, Insead's Professor of Technology and Operations Management and the Timken Chaired Professor of Global Technology and Innovation, talks about the factors required for Singapore to foster a culture of business model innovation.
"As we describe in our book The Risk-Driven Business Model: Four Questions that will Define your Company, business model innovation is generally not expensive and does not require a lot of money so direct funding of such innovation is not even needed: all one requires is a small amount of seed money to help set up experiments.
What helps much more is easing immigration rules so key talent can be attracted and people can move around freely, and stable institutions which make it attractive to innovate in Singapore and then distribute innovation around the world.
