FAR East Group Limited founder and chairman Loh Ah Peng, 82, died on Thursday, the company said.
Loh has been group director since the company's incorporation in 1964. As the founder, he played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the group, which manufactures and supplies refrigeration and air-conditioning systems and products.
He was responsible for setting the company's vision and objectives, and providing guidance to the group.
Loh was the father of group CEO Steven Loh and group non-executive director Karen Loh.
