ASIAN shares were rudderless in storm-tossed waters as a fresh wave of volatility swept across regional bourses on Wednesday, with the trigger this time being yet another bout of fears over the health of the world's two biggest economies.

Wild swings besieged stock markets in the region, with the benchmark MSCI Asia Pacific Index zig-zagging between a 1.1 per cent loss and 0.4 per cent gain in the session before falling again. The index has seen its highest volatility over the past 30 days since the middle of 2013, according to Bloomberg.
