FTSE China A50 Futures Index outperforms global indices in December
THE FTSE China A50 Futures Index returned more than 30 per cent since the launch of the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect, said an SGX My Gateway report released on Friday.
It has rallied aggressively since Nov 17, chalking up a 36.36 per cent price change. This is in contrast to the S&P 500 Index (0.98 per cent), the FTSE 100 Index (-3.09 per cent) and the Hang Seng Index (-4.05 per cent)
The daily turnover of SGX China A50 Futures averaged US$4.6 billion in the first half of December; volatility of the index jumped to over 60 per cent this month, outpacing major international equity indices.
